There May Not Be Another Tomorrow

There are certain medical professionals who have raised concerns about possible serious health problems following vaccination, including heart-related conditions, blood-clotting disorders, and cancers. There has also been considerable debate over these and other claimed long-term effects. If some of the more serious concerns ultimately prove to be true, it should remind us of something we already know: time is not necessarily on anyone’s side.

But whether you believe these concerns about vaccination or not, one thing is certain: people are dying from all sorts of illnesses, diseases, accidents, and unexpected circumstances—and some are dying at younger ages. We simply do not know how much time we have. None of us has been promised another 30 years, another year, another month, or even another tomorrow.

I recently learned that an editor of a major publication died at only 38 years old. Thirty-eight is not even half of the average lifespan of a woman in the United States. None of us, however, is promised that we will reach the average life expectancy. Death can come at 38, 81, or at an age no one expected.

And yet, with death all around us, when I talk with people about eternity and the need for Jesus Christ, many still seem to say, “Not today, Jesus.”

Sometimes I wonder: Do we love our sinful lifestyles so much that our hearts have become hardened toward God? Have we convinced ourselves that there will always be another day to repent?

I have shared the Gospel with a family member multiple times, and his response is often, “Maybe later,” followed by laughter. My heart is sorrowful for him because I know tomorrow is not promised. Any one of us could suddenly find ourselves on the other side of eternity, standing before God and facing judgment. Eternity is real, and according to Scripture, there is a heaven and there is a hell.

Jesus said:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” — John 14:6

There is only one way to our Heavenly Father, and that is through Jesus Christ. He shed His blood upon the cross for the redemption of our sins. He died, was buried, and on the third day He rose again. Scripture tells us that the risen Christ appeared to more than five hundred people at one time before His ascension into Heaven.

Why do I continue talking about this?

Because I love you enough to tell you the truth.

Unless you repent and turn to Jesus Christ, you will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Scripture warns of judgment and of hell—a place described with weeping and gnashing of teeth. These are difficult words, but eternity is far too important for me to remain silent simply because the message may make someone uncomfortable.

Whatever you are caught up in, whatever sins you have committed, and however far away from God you believe you have wandered, there is forgiveness in Jesus Christ. Repent. Turn to Him. Ask Him for forgiveness. Put your faith in Jesus Christ and surrender your life to Him.

Please do not continue saying, “Maybe later.”

There may not be another tomorrow.

How many more opportunities will you have to respond when Jesus is calling you today?
